I recently saw some of Weir's wedding images in a photography magazine. As a writer and professor of literature, what impresses me most about his work is his power as a storyteller. In particular, his photograph of what I assume to be the groom's men gathered before the wedding in a dressing room, is startling because of the casual sophistication of the composition. The image, like a fine painting, pulls the viewer into a nearly luminous vision of life as we live it and as we dream it. That's real photography. D. Belton
